BEAUJOLAIS RENAISSANCE
Beaujolais Nouveau almost ruined the good name of Beaujolais.
Luckily, serious winemakers have fought back to show the world what great wine even the simplest Beaujolais can be.
We call it the Beaujolais Renaissance. And here's one of those winemakers.
Richard Rottiers has winemaking in his blood, but he’s not from the Beaujolais. Originally from Chablis, he went to the vineyards of Moulin-a-Vent because he knows the potential there. Yields in Moulin-a-Vent are always naturally low, making this the most powerful, concentrated and long-lived of the Beaujolais cru. An older Moulin can easily be mistaken for a Pinot Noir from the Cotes de Nuits.
