The annual Charity Wine auction at the Hospices de Nuits St. Georges will take place on Sunday 9 March, and we'll be there. Once again, this year, Elden is looking to buy a barrel  on behalf of a consortium of enthusiastic Burgundy lovers

In March 2022, we attended the same auction and bought a magnificent barrel of Hospices de Nuits, Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru 'Les Corvées Pagets' 2022

Pascal Marchand of Marchand-Tawse in Nuits St Georges raised and bottled the wine for us. It has since been aging in our US cellars, awaiting an anniversary!

It has since been aging in his cellars until it recently shipped.

My notes from just before bottling say:
The robe is a deep, brilliant cherry red.
The nose offers a palette rich in black fruits and stone fruits, mixed with touches of undergrowth and spices.
A well-defined structure, solid and smooth, with an elegance tempered by very fine tannins.
