Julien Cruchandeau Hautes Cotes de Nuits Blanc 2022
Very low yields for the appellation (30hl/ha). Raised in 50% steel tank and 50% wood (with 10% new oak in the mix). Orange flower and honey, rich but fresh and open. Long pleasant floral finish.
Domaine Borgeot Bourgogne Blanc 2022
Floral and fruity bouquet, surprisingly dense and mineral in the attack. This is a gem of a simple white Bourgogne, drinking perfectly now.
Domaine Felix Bourgogne Cotes d'Auxerre Blanc 2022
Fresh and fruity on the nose with notes of peach and spice. Just a hint of oak. Lively, balanced with good minerality and length.
Domaine de Chateau de Vergisson Macon Solutre Pouilly 2022
This wine is pure pleasure. Raised in stainless steel tanks, it’s pure, open, fresh, with a noseful of rich, ripe fruit that snaps with minerality, and a mouthful of freshness that’s like biting into the grape bunch. Charming every-day drinking Burgundy!
Jean Dauvissat Pere et Fils Chablis 2021
Chalky Chablis minerality makes you immediately think that this village Chablis comes from vines on the left bank of the Serein. Many of the Dauvissat holdings are there, near Milly, the hamlet at the foot of the Cote de Lechet. Here, deep berry fruit and lemon drop (orange, really) acidity produce a big, concentrated wine which is wide open on the palate, with a long rich finish driven on by that minerality. There’s a new kid on the block!
Domaine Gilles Bouton Bourgogne Blanc 2022
Beautiful example of how good regional classified wines can be. The caveat is that the producer must be top quality, small production. Complex citrus on the attack, with good concentration, saline minerality merges with some white pepper into the finish.
Note: These wines are sourced from small producers, and so quantities are very limited. If ever we run out of a particular wine, we will substitute a wine of equal or greater value.
