Includes 3 of each WHITE wine:
Domaine Borgeot Santenay 1er Cru 'Gravieres' 2022
Santenay 1er Cru 'Les Gravieres' can be either red or white. 'Gravieres' implies gravel, loose stony soil. And the upper part of the vineyard is such. This is excellent soil for Chardonnay, with one of the best expositions in the southern Cote d'Or. Distinctive 'Borgeot' style, mineral driven, with both ripe citrus and slight stone fruit profile, there is a smokey quality that leads into hazelnut and honey. The rocky terroir is evident in the long clean finish. Great value Premier Cru White.
Domaine Gilles Bouton Saint Aubin 1er Cru 'En Remilly' 2022
‘En Remilly’ is arguably the best of the Saint Aubin premier cru vineyards. It falls from a steep, south-facing hillside which is an extension of the Grand Cru ‘Le Montrachet’ as the slopes follow the valley. The soil make-up (if you can even call it soil!) is pretty much crushed gravel, making for one of the most mineral whites in the zone. Floral, flinty and citric, it’s one of the great discoveries in white Burgundy.
Jean-Baptiste Ponsot Rully 1er Cru ‘Montpalais’ 2022
Gun-flint smoky minerality drives this ripe, old-vine fruit and elegant white flower complexity to great lengths. Extremely long finish, and the hallmark tension, even in old vine depth. Aging 12 months in barrels (20% of new oak barrels) and 3 months of assembly in mass.
Louis Picamelot Cremant de Bourgogne 'En Chazot'
Its color is bright. The bubble is gently melted to the wine. The palate surprises with the freshness of the citrus notes, but also of red and green apple. Delicate and complex, it is the subtle balance between finesse and vinosity.
Jean Dauvissat Pere et Fils Chablis 2021
Chalky Chablis minerality make you immediately think that this village Chablis comes from vines on the left bank of the Serein. Many of the Dauvissat holdings are there, near Milly, the hamlet at the foot of the Cote de Lechet. Here, deep berry fruit and lemon drop (orange, really) acidity produce a big, concentrated wine which is wide open on the palate, with a long rich finish driven on by that minerality. There’s a new kid on the block!
Marchand-Tawse Bourgogne Blanc 2021
From parcels around Savigny-les Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and the Hautes Cotes de Nuits, this is a cuvee designed to show Pascal Marchand’s vision of Chardonnay. Floral, with that Corton Mountain minerality, great acidity that makes it mouth-wateringly juicy and open. It’s ready. A lovely image of white from the middle reaches of the Cote d’Or.
