Everyone loves to celebrate with some bubbles but do you know how these magnificent wines are made and what makes them so special? Join us and we’ll show you what it takes to make these glamorous wines sing. When you’re celebrating valentine’s day with that special someone, they’ll surely be impressed by your knowledge.
Two great wines to explore plus some fascinating topics we will discuss:
• The grapes used to make Crémant de Bourgogne and Champagne
• The methods used to make sparkling wines
• What the differences in terrior in each region
• How sparkling wines came to fruition
• And many other topics
At this tasting we will present two Elden Selection sparkling wines, the Virtual Tasting Duo includes one bottle of each with GROUND SHIPPING INCLUDED:
Domaine Borgeot Crémant de Bourgogne
Don’t call it Champagne. You’ll get us in trouble. But this Borgeot Crémant de Bourgogne is produced in the very same way as those much more expensive wines that we are allowed to call Champagne. A well-made Cremant is a joy. A wine you can pull out for any occasion. And a wine which is made on a more human scale than the millions upon millions of bottles produced by our neighbors to the north. And that’s reason enough to celebrate!
Pierre Brigandat Champagne Brut Tradition
Strange as it may sound, this 'Brut Tradition' is an ‘assemblage’ of 100% Pinot Noir cuvées. 25% is from what Bertrand Brigandat calls the 'cuvee reserve', wine from previous vintages set aside for blending purposes. While so much Champagne these days tastes of under-ripe fruit and yeast, this 'blanc de Noir' is a real wine, with finesse and elegance. The roundness of the Pinot fruit is balanced with a bright acidity, and the soft pearl of the bubbles brings up aromas fresh and floral.
